My name is Matthew Lyles Hornbostel. I lived in Houston, Texas for the first 32 years of my life. Those 32 formative years in Eastwood led to many close friendships, often formed through church groups. These included the Church of the Redeemer, Episcopal, as well as some other groups connected to it directly or indirectly. At this time not much is here but I do intend to post a 3d virtual tour of the historic setting at some point in the near future. You see, Redeemer was a big church once, that slowly declined. By the 2010s it was well past its peak (during the 1960s-1970s Jesus movement) and the building was headed for closure. To attempt to preserve it in some way, I extensively photographed every surface of the building inside and out, and had the grandiose idea of making a realtime 3d replica of it. Now, about ten years later, I'm close to realizing that. The recreated churchwill exist in a few forms - a fully detailed desktop release, a mobile release for Android, and may even have VR support through a ported version on VRChat!
